Shahd Alshammari is an author and academic.
She is the author of Notes on the Flesh (Faraxa Press, 2017) Head Above Water (Neem Tree Press, 2022, Feminist Press, New York, 2023), and Confetti and Ashes (2025). Head Above Water was longlisted for The Barbellion Prize for Literature.
Alshammari teaches literature and has written numerous short stories and creative nonfiction. Her research areas include illness narratives and disability studies.
